I ordered a battery charger for my Canon camera from Shentech.com. The website said the company was selling a Canon CB-5L battery charger—not a knockoff. The battery charger I received did not work. On closer inspection, I determined it was not really a Canon battery charger. It was counterfeit.
Fortunately for me, the Better Business Bureau helped me get a refund for my purchase price. I had to send the fake battery charger back to Shentech. I have not received what it cost to mail the package. (Something Shentech promised the BBB it would do.)
And also fortunately, the fake battery charger did not start a fire or cause an electrical short. I have emailed Canon to let it know that Shentech sold me a counterfeit battery charger in case it wants to pursue other action. I have photos of the fake battery charger and the genuine replacement I purchased through Amazon.
