I had my own business for 8 years. I have and have used all the domain names associated with it, have it registered with all of the major online auction/selling venues; and then, with over 10,000 eBay sales and almost 5,000 positive feedbacks I was ready to step it up to the next level. My goal was to use all of my knowledge, experience, and established web presences to earn at least $100,000.00 in 2007. So, I looked into getting dropshippers. My first experience was with Lauren Richman, who also acted as my liaison between Rob and his Cellular Wholesale USA.
The deal was that I would get $5 for every phone sold. With my strong, well established eBay PowerSeller store, web design experience, marketing skills and ambition I was able to sell hundreds of phones a day easily. I thought I had landed on the fast track to achieving my goal. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that I was dealing with self-indulgent criminals.
Items were shipped many days, sometimes weeks late, even though my customers paid $20 for USPS Priority. One days shipping of dozens of packages were shipped more than two weeks late and I was told the Post Office messed up by holding onto them. I sold a few dozen models of one phone and she said the pallet was stolen - eBayers don't like to win an auction and then not receive their prize. They were sending my customers phones with no battery covers, or batteries, or chargers, or that were cracked. Many phones were locked, or water damaged, one even had porn on it. They took weeks to replace them, if they replaced them at all. Then, after I'd paid for all these broken or non-existent phones and the justifiably angry customers were flooding my phone lines and email accounts and demanding refunds (along with a pint or two of blood) I was left high and dry. I had to hire 5 part time people to help answer the enormous flood that's brought on by sending hundreds of people defective phones or sending no phone at all.
What's worse, is she even gave me dozens of bogus tracking numbers that she swore for weeks she'd sent. Three months later all of those tracking numbers of thousands of dollars worth of cell phones still don't work. Um, can you say MAIL FRAUD IS A FEDERAL CRIME? I only hope prison is as bad as they say.
My pristine 99.8% feedback I'd built on eBay by shipping 5 out of 6 days a week for the better part of 4 years plummeted within 2 months to a 99.0%. PayPal limited my access twice, eBay suspended me for a week, and they are deciding at this very moment if they will allow me to continue to sell after the three month tsunami of negatives.
For the first time in 8 years I have to go out and work a "real" job because of Lauren Richman and Robert Eisenberg. All of my credit cards were maxed out so that I could pay the eBay fees and issue thousands of dollars in refunds and to resolve the myriad of disputes that were filed daily against me in PayPal, eBay and SquareTrade. I had to borrow my sister's mortgage and tax money in order to save my PayPal account. I lost my apartment and my landline was shut off. And now, the NY State Dept of Taxation is after me.
Beware of lauren richman and rob eisenberg.
