I pay 7.99/mnth of insurance for my Hollywood phone from AMP'D MOBILE (WHO JUST FILED CHAPTER 11) I have had my phone for about 10 months now and you can imagine it doesn't look like it did the day I bought it. I called up because I dropped the phone in a puddle and is the truth of the matter. As this is covered in the insurance, they knew exactly what to say to me on the phone by telling me "it states in the contract that their is a deductable of $70."
I have paid over those 10 months 7.99 (tax) so about 10 bucks. That's 100 dollars and plus the 70 dollar deductable= 170 bucks. I see the same phone new in the box on ebay for anywhere from 16.99-37 dollars. So I beg the question, why pay for insurance on the phone. They scam you with slick contracts. Is this a company you will ever want to deal with?
