Two years ago I bought a Blackberry Pearl and have carried insurance through
Asurion on it the whole time. The phone still works fine but the roller ball
that controls many of the functions fell out the other day. I am four months
away from being able to upgrade to a new phone so I called on Asurion to
help me with my damaged device. They informed me that my deductable would be
$90.00. A $90.00 dollar deductable on a $200 dollar phone verses a $500
deductable on a $40,000.00 car, And after paying $7.00 a month for two years
seems like a scam to me. There's obviously no way anyone would pay $90.00
dollars to replace a phone that can be bought for $50.00 all day long. Never
again, I learned my lesson.
