I ordered a panasonic DMC-FZ8 digital camera from them because I found them on a 'best deals' website and the reviews of their services seemed strong. After ordering, I (like the others who have complained) received an email asking me to call to confirm my order.
I called a number of times during their business hours, but got a message saying they were closed. When I finally reached them to confirm, they tried to sell me an extended life battery, when I refused they tried to sell me a memory card, when I said I just wanted to camera, they hung up on me! My husband and I became suspicious at that point, wondering whether the camera would be new or whether they might use our credit card information illegally.
We waited a week to see if they would deliver the camera and heard no word from them. I called this morning to follow up, could not get through to customer services, went through the sales connection and asked about the order. I was told that it was 'on hold' because the camera was 'out of stock'. I informed the man I spoke with that the website said the camera was available and he repeated that it was not.
So, I told him to cancel my order. He did not give me any difficulty, but I have called my credit card company to alert them to our concerns about the potential for fraudulent use and we will keep a close eye on our upcoming statements.
