Misleading Plan, Unexpected Charges Ripoff

I have a daughter who likes to talk on her cell phone.in order to control the costs, I signed up for a plan with Virgin Mobile. They offered several options. One called for automatically putting money into your account when it got low. Another supposedly let you automatically feed the meter just once a month. Perfect, I thought, I'll put money in once a month and if it runs out she can't use the phone - lesson learned.

Imagine my surprise when I went online to view my bank account, and started to see multiple charges for $4.88. When I called Virgin Mobile the operator told me that despite what I had read, when the phone's minutes were used up it would hit my credit card if more cash was needed before the monthly payment date. The only way to change that, he said, was to take my credit card off the account.

So I took my credit card off the account. For this month, since my daughter still has the phone, I made a one-time payment to keep the service going - but I am really steamed.in my opinion the account description was completely misleading. If I wanted a plan where they get to ding me every time the account runs low I would have chosen that option. Turns out I got it anyway! For a plan that was supposed to be $35 a month I ended up paying $75. This stinks.
