Digitally Discovered Discovery Cameras Ripping Me Off! Ripped off and scammed

On April 1, I ordered an Epson Printer from Digitally Discovered, doing business as DiscoveryCameras.com. I was cajoled into several add-on purchases, and promised that I'd receive the printer by Friday, April 5. Expedited shipping was given free because my purchase came to over $1,000.00

I did not receive anything until Tuesday, April 9. I opened a big box which had printer paper and cartridges on top of an interior box.

The interior box was marked in red magic marker, "Bad Roller Missing Print Heads." I phoned to voice my displeasure, and company rep Brian Peterson promised to pull the first printer off the line on Friday, April 12 and send a replacement.

He also promised to expedite the shipping. After not receiving anything the following week, I notified my credit card company, Discover Platinum, to dispute the charge. They placed a temporary credit, but eventually allowed the charge to go through because the company was (again) offering to send a replacement.

During a phone conversation on May 9 with Peterson, he claimed he'd already sent a replacement and had it returned to him. I told him no package of any kind had been refused at my residence and advised him to check with the shipper. "I wish I had the time, " was his response.

He repeatedly attempted to get me to accept another replacement, and stated he would not pay for return of the defective material sent to me unless I accepted a replacement printer.

I refused and told him I did not want to do any business with him or his company. On May 21, with no further communication, the company sent me a replacement, which was refused at my residence by my direction. I ordered a new printer and was sent a broken one. I first accepted the company's promise to replace it.

When they didn't send anything and then lied about having sent a replacement that was refused, I wanted nothing to do with them. I'm stuck with a broken printer I can't use and being charged over $1,000.00 thanks to Discover Platinum Card's taking the side of the merchant.

I've never opened the box with the defective printer. I've filed an online complaint with the New Jersey Attorney General's Office and the New Jersey Better Business Bureau, since that is the state the company appears to be in.

I've heard nothing since filing the complaint on May 10 and sending them additional information on May 13. Avoid Digitally Discoverd, Discovery Cameras at all cost. The defective equipment came in a box from "Ultra Com."
