Trying to resign and return product, EqoQuest being very uncooperative! Ripoff

My experience with EqoQuest has been quite a stressful one. They contacted me about starting my own home business about 2 months ago and I was very intrigued. The managers were very nice and helpful (as they all are in the beginning) and assisted me in purchasing my inventory - The Success Pack which is $2495.

I did all of the necessary training and spent many of my hours reading packets, listening to tapes, and sitting in on group conference calls. When it came time to put my training to the test I went out and did what I could. I was a beginner and not a sales person by any means.

I found it extrememly hard to sell these units due to how expensive they are. People were generally interested, but naturally asked "How much is it?" No matter how much EqoQuest wants to sugar-coat their sales techniques (Placing units first, follow-up, evaluate, and the unit will sell itself, etc.) the bottom line is that as a dealer, you are trying to sell a product. And people will always ask about the price. Many people found that this product was far too expensive, even after comparing it to other purifiers out on the market.

Very quickly after, I decided that the business was not for me. I contacted all of the necessary people - my managers first, followed by EqoQuest customer service, and Best Finance. I explained my situation and was in turn given specific instructions on how to resign from the company and return my Success Pack. I understood that I would have to pay for shipping as well as a 10% restocking fee. I felt that this was a simple process and that sending the inventory back would be far more manageble for me than to have to pay for the unsold product (Through Best Finance it came to 3 payments of around $800).

Since my decision to resign I have been on what seems like a wild goose chase. Nobody seemed to know what to do after I sent in my letter of resignation. My manager became rude towards me and said that I "shouldn't be able to return my inventory". He placed judgements on me that were not true, implying that I did not try and if I don't put forth effort I will never succeed.

I stive to do well in every aspect of my life. But I feel that what works for some people, will not always work for others. We are all different in so many ways and have different interest and talents. I do commend those who have succeeded in this company. I read the success stories and saw proof of people that have worked their way to the top. But this business is not for me and I feel that it's ok. I am talented in other areas and I focus on that instead. For Hugo or anyone else that felt this company didn't work for them - do not be discouraged.

It has come to the point now where the first payment has been taken out and as I had explained to all of my managers and others from EqoQuest, I did not have the funds to pay for it. I still haven't found an answer on how to return the Success Pack or get my money back. And I am literally left with nothing but a bunch of unused product. It really shouldn't be this hard to return something!

I have to say that I made a big mistake in becoming involved with EqoQuest and I wish that others will take into consideration every aspect of any home business before diving in.
