I ordered a camera from A & M last month online. Paul the Sales manager called and left a message on my answering machine saying that I need to call him back to confirm the order. I called him back and after confirming my order he stated that I would need special batteries and a charger for the camera. I stated that batteries come with it and he said yes them come with Alkaline batteries but all they are for is to set the date and time. I told him that he was wrong and he kept telling me that I needed the batteries, using high pressure sells tactics.
Well I order them and he talked me in to buying a case for the camera. I called the next morning and talked to Paul again and said I wanted to cancel the order for the batteries and the case. He said that the order had already been shipped. I said that I looked online at the camera manufactures web site and pulled up the manual and it stated that the camera would work using AA batteries.
He said "If you are unhappy after receiving the batteries and the case you can send them back. I said but your return policy states that I would be charged a restocking fee. He said I want you to be a satisfied customer you can return them and I will credit your credit card for the full price.
When I received the order I was unhappy because I already had batteries and a charger just like the ones they sent. Also the camera would not fit into the case. Well I called back and he refused to credit my account for the full price. He stated that he I could send them back and he would charge a restocking fee. I asked to speak to the manager and he said I am the manager. I ask to speak to his superior and he refused. I call customer service and ask to speak to the manager of the company.
I said ok I will send them back please give me a return authorization number. He refused and said I didn't need one. I stated that They transfered me to an answering machine. I left a message stating my case. I never received a return call. I called the manager again. Still nothing. Paul was rude on the phone and lied about the batteries and sent me the smallest camera case that they had. The camera was a good buy and priced good. However they charged me $49.95 for the batteries and charger, you can buy the same thing at WalMart for less than $20.00.
