To fill you in a little, I was shopping at the mall with a friend when a Cingular salesman pulled me to his little workbooth. He informed me we could both get phones and share minutes each month. We fell for it.
A couple months after paying him for the phones and leaving, my friend breaks his phone and decides to just cancel the service on that phone. They have no problem doing just that. Well lucky for me, I am the one that gets the phone bill each month and find the $175.00 termination fee.
I call the Cingular service number and am told that the fee is in my contract. Well I'm sure it's in the Cingular contract but I never signed or recieved a contract. That was my little gift from god that day I guess. Well after informing them that there is no contract and asking them to fax me a copy of my signed contract, they go on tell me that if I accept any plan, I am verbally accepting a two year contract. I can't have a working phone without a plan.
I have read that I can contact the FCC and the Arizona BBB
I just thought I would start here and see if anyone else has a similar situation.
