I too am a victim of this fraudulent company. My family was forced to "upgrade" from analog to digital, in February, going to a higher cost plan and starting a new contract (2 years).
This month, July, my husband's phone needed a new battery, so he went to the local store (which by the way has an unlisted phone number!) where we originally got into this mess. They told him that for just $2.00 more than the cost of a new battery, he could have a new phone. So he took the bait. Now we've received a letter from Verizon stating that on July 2 WE requested to upgrade our equipment and therefore our new contract starts from this date! I have no intention of extending our contract!
When I called Customer Service, they said there's nothing I can do about it, unless I wanted to pay the $175.00 termination fees. We have 3 phones on this plan. I'm up against a brick wall with this stupid company. Does anybody have any suggestions?
