1-800-4 APhone advertised a cell phone for sale for $79.95. No plans, no contracts, no fees - a pay as you go plan. I paid my money and received my phone. It came with 30 minutes prepaid, which was eaten up with wrong number calls.
No matter, I called to ask how much more minutes would cost, and was told $19.99 for 100 minutes, each additional $10.00 would be another 100 minutes. I paid $19.99, was told my minutes would be applied by the end of the bisiness day. Nothing.
Called them this morning, and was told I wasted my money, as I had not selected a Plan. The cheapest plan is 48.96 a month. The prices I had been quoted were only for those who had selected a Plan. They would apply the money I paid toward a Plan, but first I had to choose and pay for a Plan.
This is more money than I was previously paying for my phone! I am on a fixed income, and this poses a hardship for me. How could they blatantly lie like that over the air? I won't have another $30.00 for another month.
