Purchased a camera from a camera store over the internet. Registered it with Kodak. Camera failed after 2 months. Requested RMA from Kodak using the serial number of the camera. Was given RMS-1144733 With shipping instructions to United Camera in Bensenville, IL. After contacting United Camera was told that the camera needed a valid receipt. I had the camera shop FAX the receipt to united. I was then told that the manager wanted to contact Kodak. I was then informed Kodak would not honor the RMA because the camera shop I purchased it from was not an Kodak authorized dealer. I complainded to Kodak who told me thay would not honor the RMA. I was told to have the camera returned unrepaired. United would only return the camera if I paid $50.00 for shipping and diagnostics.By following Kodak's instructions I have lost $10.00 in shipping the camera to United Camera repair shop and if I didn't want to pay the additional $50.00 they would not return my camera.
If kodak wasn't going to honor the RMA why did they not notify me at first rather than issue me an RMA and instructions to send my camera to this repair shop. I really dont know if the repairs were actually needed and cant efford $50.00 to return a broken camera. I am now out a camera and $10.00 shipping.
