I called Nationwide Tollfree directory assistance searching for Packard Bell and was given the phone number 18006106980 from Blauvelt New York.
I called and was immediately asked for my debit card and I told them emphatically that I just had a question about my old-school Packard bell system. They (who I thought was Packard Bell and had Packard Bell's outstanding reputation) assured me that this was routine and procedure and that NO CHARGES would be authorized to my account without my permission, which I NEVER GAVE. Low and behold the next day $52.50 was stolen out of my account.
I called them several times and was SCREAMED at, SWORN at, and HUNG UP ON. This is when I grew extremely suspicious and began my research finding that Packard Bell has not been in the United States in YEARS!
Now I am disputing it with my bank. I have contacted the BBB, Packard Bell, and a tollfree directory assistance operator that will remove the number from their directory. I have searched for this company on line and even their phone number of which I have turned up zilch.
I do want to pursue a class action suit and if anyone else has had a similar experience please contact me by using the rebuttal box below.
