My Husband and I have been Sprint PCS customers since 2001.in Jan we decided to sign up for the family plan and add a phone. We kept our old 3500 model phones which don't have any great features but they work. For our third line we purchased a new phone. We were told the basics about the plan... Number of minutes, start time for usage, basic charge per phone. What we were not told was anything about the phone we purchased and how all the new features on it would automatically incur extra charges on our bill.
After our first bill we noticed a $30 charge for internet service. After speaking to several CSR we were informed that we were using the internet on a daily basis. NOT SO! After many denials we discovered that this great phone had a design flaw.
It has a button in the middle of the scroll arrows. When scrolling around you inadvertantly press the middle button and instantly access the web. After being called a liar by several CSR finally one suggested that we go to the sprint pcs store and have the phone checked out. Our claim was confirmed and we were to be credited for all usage charges.
In addition the vision capabiity was to be disabled. It was disabled but it took three months to straighten out the account. Now recently, we have discovered that we are being charged for text messaging. They claim that we have received and forwarded 248 text messages in one month! And they're charging us 10 cents for each. Again, this is false so we have to go back to the store and investigate this issue.
When I asked why we are just now having a problem with this? They just mechanically repeated what their system shows. When I asked them why I was again being charged for internet service, they informed me that we requested to have it reinstated in July! We never did this! So far they cannot confirm who did it... They just keep saying that "someone" did.
Bottom line... You sign up but you don't know what you will find on each bill. The phones are set up to incur useless charges and sprint refuses to believe that there are flaws in their network. We have been battling with them every month since we signed up for this new plan. 10 Months to be exact and the battle continues... Every month until we can get out.
They need to be exposed!
