CIC or Consumer info has been jerking me around for months now. I signed up for their free report and when I found out that it wasn't free, I cancelled.
One month after cancelling I find a charge to my account for $8.95
So I call the customer service line (what a joke) and the rep asks me for my SS number to verify my identity. I reluctantly give it to him and he tells me that my account has already be cancelled.
"If my account was cancelled then why are you charging me?" I asked.
The my simply said that he didn't know why and he couldn't help me. When I asked to speak to his supervisor he said that he wasn't in and asked me to call later.
I have call 4 times with the same results and they have charged my card once a month (for 5 months) for $8.95
Watch out for these guys because they have become very efficient at the "run around".
I am going to call again today and stay on the phone as long as it takes to get these guys to admit that they are stealing from me and the take responsibility for what they are doing!
