Aaron Haaga
Everest Realty, Secure Real Estate, RES Academy Deceptive scam artist - $5,000 stolen

I was introduced to Aaron Haaga through a seminar my husband attended at the RES Academy. We were approached to begin their real estate classes with the agreement that we would put $5,000 down and if we didn't make our money back through investing within the first year, we would get that money back.
Aaron suggested to us that to better our chances of being successful with the investing, we should put our house on the market to get out from under our debt. We were unsuccessful in selling the house so Aaron then suggested that we try a short sale. He advised us to stop paying our HOA fees and the mortgage as that would be covered when the house was sold.
After a year of the house being on the market as a short sale, we get a notice that we are being foreclosed on. We attempted numerous times to contact Aaron to get information on what we should do to try to save the house and we got no response until after it had actually gone to auction and was sold. My husband was finally successful in reaching him and he said "there was nothing I could do to stop it" We had a total of 30 days to find a new place to live and move out of our house, all the while, trying to call and email Aaron to ask for our $5,000 that we felt we were owed as he didn't hold his end of the agreement we made in the beginning.
About two months later, we were served papers stating that we were being sued by the Home owners Association. I contacted Aaron to ask once more about the $5,000 and he actually answered. He acted as though this was the first time he was hearing about the whole situation. When I asked about the money, he told me he never agreed to that and that he didn't owe us anything. He did, however, offer his services to us in the future if we still wanted to learn from him. Right.
We had known this guy for three years and had no reason not to trust him. He got lazy, sloppy, and he just plain gave up on us. And to be completely honest, I don't believe he had honorable intentions to begin with. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. It's a little bit frightening that we probably aren't the first, nor the last that this sort of thing will happen to.
