I, like many others, was seduced by the "Rich Dad" name and all the hype they throw at you at their seminars. Which I guess explains why I didn't just google "Rich Dad" and "Scam" before "investing" over $10,000.
I know some of you out there will say it's my fault for not investigating, but they are very clever at what they do andthey make it virtually impossible for you to determine how false their claims are before the 3-day cancellation period.
In any event, I bought in because they had this great software—Real Estate Success Software—that is supposed to help you find undervalued properties that you can buy and flip. During the seminar they show you many properties that are as much as 75% below market value. Of course it is not until after you get the software home and start doing your own research do you realize that the values supplied by the software are totallyfalse and misleading. For example, the software said that a property that was listed for $100,000 had a fair market value of $150,000. But, when you actually do comps in the area, the FMV was probably 98k to 101k. Exactly where it was listed. So I tried to get my money back, to no avail. I am now pursuing a suit against Rich Dad, LLC.
