I didn't actually buy the 'Pro Resume Writers Program' as advertised by AWAI (The American Writers & Artists Inc.) as I could not believe how badly the speil had been written.
Naturally I can't speak for the rest of the world, but here in the UK, the word 'resume' is a verb, not a noun. (It means to re-commence something.) There is a noun spelt resum (with an accent over the e) but unfortunately no employer would ever expect one of those with a job application. Over here, it's called a 'CV' (stands for Curriculum Vitae)
AWAI have many thousands of members here in the U. K so didn't they realise they were advertising something which is completely useless over here? O. K, maybe the course gives instructions to British people not to use expressions which no prospective employer would understand - but somehow I doubt it.
