MKS Simple Escapes fraudently charged my credit card for $134.95. Having never heard of the company, I called the number shown on my statement and after forcing me to verify my address, although they already had my name, in order to "assist" me, I was informed that I had signed up through AOL for their services.
Since I had no idea what they were, I asked what services are provided and was told they offer discounts on dining, etc. I informed this lady in no uncertain terms that I had signed up for NOTHING and wanted to know how this company gained access to my credit card information. She said I had provided it to them when I signed up. I informed I would never have signed up for this service much less give a credit card number and demanded that this amount immediately be removed. She stated that the amount would be removed but I do not trust that this will be done. I have reported this fraud to my credit card company and will pursue whatever action necessary to prevent this company from doing this to anyone else.
