Current telephone billing from SBC showed an unusal billing by "Integretel, Inc." Never heard of them. The charge was $65.25. I have done a little research and then called this company and asked what the charges were for.
I am married and older and finding out I had "used" a dating service in the last month was NEWS to me. The operator even asked me "if I could trust that my HUSBAND hadnt used it" Get real, he was at work, which we can verify. The name of the dating company was "web singles" and "Action Date Connections" and "hot Action Dating" (Good grief!) I delete any cookies I dont know.
What I have found out is if you delete at the X in the corner of the cookie these Cookie people can "charge you" I am going to verify this via msn. I get 100's of unwanted cookies and always delete at the X in box. This person from Integretel said you need to use an "uninstall icon?" I dont have a clue on that maybe someone else does.
She "offered" to take off the bill but THREATENED ME that "if I do this again" I will be charged. First, I am not sure what I did wrong with "unsolicited" email by deleting it. BUT it does seem integretel is promoting customer "rip-offs" along with SBC allowing them to "bill you" I do intend to investigate more and if anyone has had a similar situation please give me information. I am going to document and report this. Its outrageous!
