I have been doing to u of p for almost a year now and finally got tired of their crap like many of the people on here they have done the same things to me although the latest is I have currently enrolled in a new college online I sent both of my counslors a email telling them I am terminating my classes here at UofP that was over 2 weeks ago well last night I get a email from my finacial aid advisor to call him immedatly that it has to do with my finacial aid, so i call him and he starts to tell me that if I stop going to UofP that I will have to pay my lender 2080.00 and that will be right away I ask him why and said I am changing schools not lenders so what does that have to do with anything he proceeded to tell me that because I am unenrolling from UofP all of my funds (which they already have for the year) will sent back and because I already recieved my pell grant and excess F/A I will hav to send those back as well. I asked him how I would go about not having to pay all of this back he told me That if I stay at U of P I will not have to pay these things back. Lol. Right then it was a red flag for me so I called my new college and told them everything he told me they laughed and said that this was not the first time Uof P has done this to a new student transfering over to them. So I called UofP back he told me the Excess F/A money they sent me was for me to pay for my next classes I asked him why this was he said because on your new FASFA forms you put down you wanted to handle your own funds which was funny because I never changed anything on my FASFA it was the same as it was when I first did it and they handled all of my funds from day one all I did was resubmit my FASFA I did not change a thing so now they want that money back for classes i did not even take. Lol. At the end of our conversation he started to tell me that if I go to this new college I will have what is over lapping loans and this is because all of my funds for the year have been sent to UofP already and Finacial aid will not pay for me to go to a new college so it will not cover my full year at the new college. So I called the new college and talked to the student manager and he told me it was because UofP do not want to release my funds to the new school which they have now choice but UofP told me this to keep me there. What kind of education is this if they cared about our educations then they would not be trying to screw the students who give them their hard earned money to go there and get a so called degree... As I read all of your stories about what UofP has done to all of you it really pisses me off. There has to be something that us students can do to stop this scam that UofP is doing to all of us innocient people. So if you know anything that i could do personally please let me know...
