I am a former UofP campus and online student. I was treated with the worst customer service of a "for profit" company that I have ever seen.
When I enrolled into UofP, with an A.S. Degree, the enrollment counselor said that I would be done in 2 maybe 2 and a half years. Of course this wasn't true at all, in fact unless they are teaching their enrollment counselors to lie to make a buck - then the UofP process is to lie to get as many people enrolled as possible.
I was enrolled for about a year - I had some family issues that I need to deal with - I was approved for a leave of absence then two weeks after being approve, a new financial aid advisor (the 3rd one in a year) called me and told me that I was no longer approved!
Just to add salt to the wound I was also informed that I now owed $3200 because they sent back my financial aid to the lender. This was hilarious I keep very good track of my student loans so I called Citibank, and of course they had not received any such money back. I went to the financial aid department at my campus spoke with the financial aid manager showed them proof that the money was not sent back. They attempted to make excuses until I said Lawyer. Then the entire attitude changed.
The latest thing to shorten this up a little was I transferred to the online UofP, they informed me that it would not have any effect on anything. That was another of the many lies that I have been told by the UofP staff of morons. I went to the first class informed the instructor that I was new to the online process and that I was not really sure of what I needed to do his highly intellectual response was what is your question? So I again informed him of what I had posted in my introduction that was the only time that I heard from any of the staff at UofP online again until 3 days after the class ended.
The funny thing is I followed the syllabus I was online posting 7 days I never received any type of feed back from the instructor at least not until he gave me an f. I was 15 units away from completing my degree Grade history of a 3.9 GPA. I was quite frustrated I called my academic counselor (whom was on vacation for two weeks) and was informed to write a complaint letter. I was then informed by the same person that they were not really instructors but facilitators my question then was 1500 dollars per class and all a get is a facilitator? What the he double hockey sticks is up with that? I was denied a grade change they said it was up to the instructor (notice when it fitted their needs, they were instructors again).
Now how can the instructor judge weather or not he had done his job properly? I checked I have never received an employee evaluation from myself Have you?
I transferred to a different online school extended my degree time extensively dropped UofP was told that I would only owe for the class that I receive an F in then 2 months latter receive a bill for $4000. The said that they had sent more student loans back to Citibank to bad that Citibank hasn't receive any money.
If there is any type of class action suit against UOP I know a bunch of disgruntled students and former students that would be more than happy to sue the crap out of UOP even if all that the get is a friggen dollar.
