Wells Fargo Bank
I recieved a check from someone that owed me 500.00, and three months later, the bank took the money back and charged me 279.00 in overdraft fees

On September 4, I recieved a check in the amount of 500.00 for money that was owed to me by a person. On January 31, I noticed that my checking account was negative 500.00 plus 279.00 in overdraft fees. I then later figured out that after depositing that specific check into my account, almost 6 months later, Wells Fargo took back that money and charged me overdraft fees. When I called, they gave me the run around. They told me to go to the branch and that they would take care of everything. When in actuality, the branch told me that i needed to contact someone else. It is now April 18, and everytime I call, they tell me that they have 90 days to investigate it. However, when the lady named Kathy, told me that she wanted me to fax her over statements of the lady who wrote me the check, I believe that she thought that I really couldn't produce that. However, that is personal information and why is another bank telling me that I need to show them someone else's private bank statement in order for me to prove that the check was paid. I have gotten nothing but the run around and I want my money that should have never been taken from me. If someone writes a check and six months later, the bank decides that it is a NSF check, then why am I being held responsible for someone else's bad behavior. Why didn't she get charged?
