On 2/16/08 I paid my Bank Of America credit card online at 1:30pm, the payment was due 2/17/08. When the confirmation came up it show that they would post it to my account on 2/19/08. I called the bank but they don't do business on Saturday.
So on the 19th I called again to have my payment posted on the correct day, following are the reasons I was given that this did not and could not be taken care of:
1. You paid it after the time they except payments. No I did not
2. We dont take payments on the weekend. (ON LINE BANKING point is?)
3. We show you paid it on the 19th but we will reverse the fee of $40.00. Now why would you reverse the fee if it was late?
After another phone call and be transfer 10 times because it, s not their department, the Senior account manager could low my interest to 24.99% because it was lated you know, well thank you.
And my last and finial effort to correct this mistake I went online to sign into get into my account, I was lock out again so call their friendly costumer service line. As they fixed the lock out again I ask the rep. If she could look to see when Bank of America received my February payment not when the bank posted it, she did.
Guess what they received it on Feb, 16 one day early but they had a computer problem so my payment was not posted until Feb 19. Great! Oh hold on...
So I said could please rest my interest rate to the previous rate since we seemed to have found the problem?
Answer: No I can't do that the computer won't let me but what we can do to help you out is have you apply for a line of credit so you can pay off the credit card. So of course I was a little confuse and ask why would I have to do that since you screwed up? There is nothing we can dooooooooooo.
