Ok, I started working for Macy*s last June, 07. It was the Brandon store. Everything seemed great. I was making a ton of money in sales, then after about 2 months I noticed a huge decline. This company is ripping their own employees off. I was told about something called a sales quota. I personally believe they are doing somethig illegal with their numbers. I was in something called deficit for the rest of the time I worked meaning that my returns counted against my sales HOWEVER, for example if I made my sales goal of $5600 for the week and needed 6,000 to make commission, I needed to not only make my 6 next week, but an additional 400 dollars to get me out from the previous week... And it goes on and on until I was $12,000 in deficit! YES THAT IS RIGHT AND I HAVE PAPERS TO PROVE IT. My old manager who worked there told me that is how it worked, but then my new manager later on explained to me when I was out sick for a weekl with a severe sinus infection due to their lack of cleaning in the store, that I had a tremendous amount of returns. My manager said I was $700 in defifict. HERE IS THE SCAM - they take that 700 bucks and divide it into your sales per hr that you need to be making - $150. Anyways, when my manager did the numbers it came out to about 12 grand LOL I laughed at her and said your joking right? Iv never heard of such a silly scam in my life. Not only that but I was always working by myself, and the asst manager would treat me like crap after I had a huge sale day and 3 or 4 racks of clothes to put away saying things like "this is uncalled for..." IM NOT A SLAVE WORKER. Not only that but after being there, I noticed rat droppings inside the terminals, on top of the desk, inside of the drawers where we had to grab tape and other things, and rats actually running around the store, in front of customers, there were always roaches inside the kitchen draws and holes everywhere. The candy is eaten by the rats and they dont take it off of the shelves!!! I showed the asst manager of the store the droppings and she said she would take care of it, it layed there and piled up literally for another 5 months when i left. We complained about the air conditioner and they never gave us healthy breathable air or even fixed it so we werent uncomfortable and sweating! I was always sick with a sinus infection. I had chronic headaches, sore throats to the point where I couldnt even swallow, I couldnt breathe properly, nausea, and many other problems that prevented me from working. It was so dirty that I ended up with pneuomina and was out for a week. 2 other employees got some kind of flesh eating disease that discolored one of the employees hand, and she had very bad sores on it, and started growing up anothers arm. When the airconditioner man came, he pulled out the vents and it was extremely, heavily packed with dirt and dust that fell all over. They never cleaned it and just put the vent back. They never repaired the roof and there is the same leaky spot from 7 months ago. They do not dust or get the carpets washed. They havent updated their OCEA in years. If you go in there, touch a shelf there is alot of dust. There is dust in every nook and crany, and the mirrors in the dressing room were dirty for a month before they decided to clean it. Check out the corners, u will find lots of dirt. They use dirty water to clean the tile too. And in the juniors dept, metal pieces that were falling down from the ceiling, the ceiling light fixtures are so old they are yellow. There was a toilet that was out of order for 4 weeks! The manager is so cheap. But yet he drives a brand new BMW and is always on vacation every week, literally... Meanwhile im sick every month and was diagnosed with chronic sinisitis before I decided to just quit. I am in and out of the doctor and have alot of bills from them. I want justice.
They are def doing something either in their system with these numbers or fixing them so the company can make more money off of us employees, illegally. I think it is too convienant that every new person that came in to work for them did great for a couple of months and then was in defict. Let me say this as well: My records showed I made $200,000 in the 6 months I was there, so how was I in deficit? They over staff as well. If I was out for a week and wasnt making sales why should I be penalized because this store caused my issue to begin with!!?? They are scum and I hope Macy*s florida goes under.
These people are a bunch of big cats that dont care about their employees. Do not work at this store, enter at your own risk!
