The Growing Place Nursery and Preschool has very dangerous practices for a school that is supposed to nurture and protect children.
I went to pick up my daughter today, to learn that the Director was no longer in employment there. This made me VERY weary as they have a VERY high turnover rate and this Director was an accomplished and sincere woman. This is the second Director in less than a year.
Upon investigation of the school's employees and practices over the last 8 months, I discovered that they have a Registered Sex Offender on staff, who has been there a month now and had had two people previously that had substantiated child abuse and neglect on their Criminal Records. The Assistant Drector has had criminal complaints and half the staff in the last year has had recorded drug problems and weapons possession charges.
The owner, Loxi A. Foree, allows for this type of person to interact with children on a daily basis, even leaving the children with these people alone, unsupervised. All for a profit. I am glad that my tuition money went to the hourly rate of abusers, frauds, drug users and people just looking for a paycheck. I feel sick even talking about it. Not all of the teachers were bad. She has a few that checked out clean. Those are the ones that I trusted. I am sick to think that I allowed that school even one minute of my daughter's life.
In speaking with an outside source around the holidays, I had discovered that she has failed to report the truth of her employees to her clients, stolen money from her employees, bounced paychecks, lied to the licensing agents and failed to report abusive situations to the state, keeping the suspected teachers on staff without a care of the ramifications. She has held employees paychecks before christmas, denying her staff a happy holidays, she does nothing for their health benefits and fails to provide appropriate food, learning materials and safety for the children in her care.
I have seen infant staff propping bottles with babies, teachers on cel phones while they are supposed to working with children, and other irresponsible things within this center. The playground is horrible and dangerous and my daughter has been bitten several times due to lack of teacher supervision.
For awhile there, there was another company involved with the school that was anti-diversity, ant-gay and anti choice of religion. I am a christian woman, and I believe that this is wrong of a school to do to families. Miss Foree allowed for it to happen without cause.
My daughter has come home with filthy diapers, diaper rash and had had several complaints about teachers *being mean*. I had complained, things improved, and yet today, I find that the Director is no longer there. That Director was one of the few people in that building that I trusted completely. Sad day at that school.
If you have any sense of parenting, you will not take your child to this facility. It is all perfect on the outside and the owner assures you in a comforting voice that all will be well. Please ignore this act and find another school. I have pulled my daughter out effective today. This is not the safe environment I was promised.
Be diligent, be aware and be safe. Loxi Foree is a liar, a deceitful person that cares not for children, but only for her pocketbook. I pray that her employees get out before she does to them what she has done to several teachers and directors up to date. Some of those teachers are good people, but there are a few that should be nowhere near children.
Be a good parent and find another school. Keep your angels away from the nightmare that is The Growing Place. Your children deserve better. They deserve to be safe.
