College Consultant Group in colorado springs - A scam - FTC information
This company is a scam they charge anywhere from $1000 to $1500 for financial services that are free to any student. I found out some more information about them with the FTC and they are just a copy of a company that was shut down in Texas called the College Funding Group. Please post any information you receive on this site like the 800 numbers to call to set up a meeting for the weekend seminar or the letters that this company sent to you, you can also post the school that you go to or contact the FTC directly. I found this information below on the college confidential site. This looks like it is from another student that has found out the same information.
I and talked to the attorney for the FTC it seems that this company is under investigation by the FTC. You can fax any letters you receive from this company directly to the FTC. After seeing information about the company in texas the college advantage aka the college funding group had been shut down by the ftc, I thought I should inform as many people as possible. If you receive any of these letters please post the 800 numbers that you are told to call to set up an appointment on the invite letters that are mailed to you. The attorney told me that this company is targeting multiple cities throughout the U. S and the more information they get the better.
