MYIProducts And Verizon breached my official 3rd-party freeze block Ripoff On-line

I discovered a $14.95 charge on my Verizon statement. It came under the heading of "Notice: This Is A New Service Provider This Month." The description of the charge was for "MYIProducts Imail Voicemail Monthly Fee."

When I called Verizon to find out about the charge, I was told it was a third-party charge. The Verizon rep. Could not find anything official on my account records showing that I had submitted a written/signed PIC Freeze (pre-subscribed inter exchange carrier) to keep third-party carriers from slamming my account. I asked to speak to a supervisor who told me that he saw that my PIC Freeze was only for local and toll call carriers. I insisted he was incorrect, to which he admitted that he did see it was for any third-party carrier, regardless of local/toll/long distance service.

Verizon offered to credit my account the $14.95 charge from MYIProducts but that I would have to pay a one-time charge $15.00 to reinstate my PIC Freeze. After blowing a gasket, I was told that Verizon would cover that charge as well. I requested a written statement and a confirmation number from Verizon to verify the transaction.

I then called the number on my statement for MYIProducts. The rep. Told me that they had my phone number listed with them so they assumed I must have given my consent to be slammed over the phone or on the internet. I am a member of the National Do Not Call Registry, so I know I was never approached via the phone and no solicitor has made it past my email filter to set this up. This company used illigitimate means to slam my account and Verizon is in violation of my PIC Freeze contract. I received a confirmation number from the MYIProducts rep. Verifying that my phone number has been permanently removed from their customer list. I was "assured" that MYIProducts would not give away or sell the information to any other company.

My belief is that if 100 people are slammed by this company and only half of them contact Verizon to complain and of the 50 people that complain, maybe only 10 of them had a previously instated PIC Freeze, then Verizon stands to gain $15 for every third-party block they set up. Multiply that by the millions of customers Verizon has and they will make a hefty profit from "resolving" the complaints of unhappy customers. The rest of them will continue to be billed monthy by MYIProducts. It is a WIN-WIN situation for MYIProducts and Verizon and the customers lose out. Did I fail to mention that MYIProduct customers will also be billed by Verizon to maintain the voicemail service they had been receiving from Verizon previously?
