It appears Classmates.com has a little scam going to get people to purchase their service.
The company appears to be fraudulently entering guestbook (an item that requires a gold membership to read) entries on behalf of other people in order to get the victim to pay the 15/40/60 dollars to see who it is that is signing the guestbook.
I ran into this situation, and signede up to see who it was signing my guest book. I contacted the people who signed the guestbook and the one response I've received so far was from someone who didn't know me either and hasn't signed anyone's guestbook ever, let alone mine.
I personally fell for this one, and I wouldn't mind paying the fee if it was actually someone genuinely trying to get in touch with me or even just letting me know they are still alive and well, but to use this type of deception to generate revenue is despicable and should be punishable.
