My story is just like all the others. I never look at my bank statement. I know shame on me but I am in the Military, away from home allot, and hardly get to look at my mail. I just happened notice a charge for $9.95 from a company that I was not familiar with. Not only did it take me a for ever to find the name and number of the company but when I called they almost refused to let me cancel my account. I told them that I requested a FREE credit report! It said nothing about $9.95 a month! They finally agreed to reimburse me $24 out of the $100 and something that they had taken from me.
How can this be legal? Is it not false advertisement to announce on line and on TV a FREE credit report then without your knowledge charge you for it. This is Bull, and they will be hearing from me again!
