I went to Apollo College to speak with an admissions officer about their Veterinary Assistant program at the end of February. They told me that I will graduate from that program certified as a Veterinary Technician and that I am guaranteed job placement. They got me so fired up to get started in their program, they slopped their way through my financial aid and my enrollment agreement and had me starting the following week. The teacher was awesome, but the curriculum was a joke. They told me that their program is the best because they offer so much hands on, but that was a lie. We didn't get hardly any hands on. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA November 17th and have yet to find a decent job. They sent me a waiver to opt out of carreer placement, hoping that I would sign. I did not sign. The only thing they did was send my resume to a few places in different cities. I told them repeatedly that I needed to find a job in the Mesa area and I even gave them a list of fax numbers to local Vet clinics in the Mesa area to make it easier on them. They have yet to fax out my resume. They did not offer an externship program, which I find to be vital in this field. Their other campus in Glendale does offer an externship so why can't they? The tuition is the same. Upon exit, they tried getting me to continue at their school in their new Health Office Management Associates Degree Program, promising me that it will make me more marketable and that I will be able to work ANYWHERE. Luckily I didn't fall for it. All they want is their money. Don't go to this school. Research before you choose a school.
