My mother recently received two phone calls and a letter from Midland Credit demanding that she pay $658.67 of a debt that is not hers. The address on the letter is her address, but the name on the bill is not hers. Apparently she gave them her address when they called her the first time demanding payment.
She tried to rectify this by a phone call back to their Account Manager and was treated harshly. Their harrassment has made this 93 year old senior citizen hysterical.
I called them myself and talked to an Accounts Manager named Clara who was rude and harsh to me as well. I asked how Midland got my mother's phone number in the first place since she is unlisted, but Clara merely said she could not divulge their sources. I threatened to call the State's Attorney's office here in illinois, and Clara told me to go ahead.
This company is preying on the elderly and needs to be stopped.
