In November '01 I applied to and was accepted to the local Sage truck driving school. Part of the application process was a medical history which I filled out including my history of knee problems and stating my restrictions due to this, and this didn't create a concern regarding a barrier to employment so I paid the $4300 tuition because Sage guarantees "100%LIFETIME PLACEMENT".
With this guarantee and my restrictions not considered a problem I felt confident I would be employed by January '02 I graduated in December '01, it is now June and I am still not working. I was hired before graduating and scheduled for orientation in February with a trucking company. However after waiting 2 months to begin I was disqualified at orientation due to MY RESTRICTIONS.
Since then I have sent and faxed numerous applications and have been turned down due to MY RESTRICTIONS or I have been told I need to take a refresher course because of the time elapsed since graduation and I was not employed as a trucker. (more than 30 days)
However my attempts to take the refresher course at Sage have been met with resistance and I am unable to pay for this due to the money I spent already, $4300. I have been told now that due to MY RESTRICTIONS that I will not find employment as a trucker and therefore shouldn't take the course because MY RESTRICTIONS will prevent me from getting a trucking job.
Funny that after paying $4300 those RESTRICTIONS are now a problem. This should have been told to me when I applied and I should not have been accepted as a student since their was no possibility of ever working. Therefore since Sage is unable and unwilling to fulfill there guarantee of placement and they now say I will not be able to ever find work as a trucker, I should be refunded my $4300 tuition. I feel that if they had as much enthusiasm to place me in employment as they did taking this money then I would not be writing this letter today.
Also a little honesty in the beginning would have helped too.
I will appreciate your help in this matter.
