I purchased a lg vx 7000 phone in April for $225.00 and the website said that I would receive two rebates one for $125.00 and one for $100.00. They did not tell me that I would need to wait 180 days before I could file. I found that out after paying for and receiving the phone. I did file on November 1.
Then the fun started. When I checked via e-mail I was told that the invoices were not dated, a lie. They suggested that I refile and submit by registered mail. I did, they signed for it, nothing further happened. I emailed again and the excuse now was I did not file on time, another lie.
This little game went around and around for several months. I was told to fax them the information, I did, on Feb. 21 they signed for it. Seven weeks passed and I finally received a e-mail stating that my fax was received and it was being processed and it would take 10 to 12 weeks. Let see now seven weeks plus 12 weeks that's 19 weeks.
Oh, the reason for 10 to 12 weeks? It takes the computer that long to process my claim. This game of musical chairs has been going on for five months now without any rebates, just file, refile, wait, and do it all over again. A final note that any reader can check on I did a look see on the BBB site for Inphonic and their membership was revoked in Nov. 2005 for no longer meeting the BBB standards. Something needs to be done to stop this scam company.
The next thing Inphonic will probably do is shut down and reopen under a new name leaving all of us high and dry. How many more of us are out there that just gave up? A few thousand? Perhaps.
