December 9th 8:00pm Received a call from a man with thick Indian accent.By the name of Chris Allen, saying that I was randomly selected by the government to receive $5000 in grant money and would able to even qualify for up to $12000 of grant money.
I asked why, and he insisted that 10% of American's receive this type of grant money each year and that they are calling on behalf of the government. He said $5000 dollars will be deposited into your checking or savings in the next 2 days, and that I will receive a package through UPS with all legal documentations with a charge of $49.95. I asked for a website and he gave me it. I was dumb enough to fall for this trap.
I asked why would the website be a.com and not a. Gov but received an answer of "Sir, we are calling on behalf the government."
He proceeded to a recording in which they stated a bunch of BS about medical services and such, and I said NO. He stopped the recording right there and then and asked why I said NO, and he gave the same BS as previously saying that I would never have to pay. I was finally suckerd into saying yes and right afterwards I had a really bad feeling about it. I called my bank to put red flag on my account.
Within 13 hours, 9AM the next day I went to my bank, closed the account with no losses.
My question is, are they still able to charge me for anything? 12-10 1:36pm
