My boss had me pick-up a laptop that she had seen at Circuit City, but when she saw it, it was too small. The laptop had never even been powered-up, nor had the battery installed, yet the store insisted on charging a 15% "restocking" fee amounting to $315. They claim that it is "clearly marked", but the verbage is on the BACK of their register receipt (where it will only be seen after the sale) and on a large poster behind the main customer service counter (where you're not likely to see it until you bring something back), but the letters are white on yellow (not a really visible combination). Other signage is ambiguous.
As a company, we're going to instruct our employees that any company purchases at Circuit City will not be reimbursed, so they'd best shop somewhere else.
