A woman called me on the phone, I can't remember the name for a govt grant up to $5000. She stated that I was approved for the $5000 and I wouldn't have to pay it back. Then she asks if I have a savings or checking account, so I can get the money into my account. I was hesistant about giving my account information over the phone. Big mistak*. She stated that there was a $249.95 one time membership fee. But, it would only be taken out of the account after the $5000 was deposited. But before this could take effect, they were suppose to call me back to get information and I would get a verification number in order for it to process through.
She called back and I was asked a series of questions, name, address, accnt info etc. At the end I would listen for the verification number. It was suppose to be an 8 digit #. They only gave me 7 digits. So, they called me back to get the verification number. I told them that I only had 7 digits. They told me that they could not process the $5000 into my account because they needed 8 digits verification #. They said that they can call me back and try again. They did I gave them info again, but I still only got a 7 digit #. After that they never called me back to get verification #. I waited and about 2 weeks later, they took out the $249.95 out of my savings account. The $5000 was never deposited.
