Dell Financial Services
Ripoff

Dell charged me for a late fee that was fraudulent and unjustified. On 01/27, which was my due date, Dell Financial debited my checking account $50 through ACH as agreed. On 01/31 I faxed Dell Financial at 512 723-3488 and requested that discontinue debiting my account. Because I did not know when this would hit, I made and online payment of $1,000 on 01/31/05, which Dell Financial received on 02/01 to go towards my February payment. The due date here was 02/27.

On 02/28 Dell charged a $29 late fee to my account, which was insultingly erroneous and terribly unethical.

When I called Customer Service at the end of February to verify whether or not my request to terminate ACH debits was initiated the representative stated that they had no record of my fax. I told her, if that is the case, Why is your company charging me a late fee? Her answer was to waive the late fee. Later I found out they dropped the ball here as well.

On 3/22 I went online, paid Dell's late fee, to avoid having to deal with the idiots after they've tampered with my credit report. After this, I sent an email requesting that my account be closed and pointing out the above reasons why. They sent me an email stating the following: We would like to inform you that the current credit balance on your account is $29.00. Please reply for a refund check and we will act accordingly. Now this got me pissed. They make a mistake and I am supposed to jump through their burning hoops to fix it?

I wonder how many other customers have had this happen with Dell Financial and not even know about? I'm thinking Class Action Suit! Maybe this will get their attention.
