I purchased a brand new hp compaq 2710p tablet notebook last january 14 @ sim lim square. They installed a windows xp tablet edition operating system so i can used the hspda sierra wireless 3g sim card slot. The retail store technician did not installed the windows vista where the machine has the original sticker label of windows vista. The tablet pc was working well until the hard drive failed to boot on may when i was on a holiday in vancouver, canada. Then on september 2 i went to hp - philippines service center in makati to repair the unit because it is under int'l. Warranty until september 11. I told them to install the same o/s win xp because that was the original o/s installed when i first bought it in singapore but they told me that only windows vista should be installed since the sticker in the unit has and i told them ok install the win vista as long as i can used the hsdpa sierra wireless with sim card slot. So i pursue them to replaced a new hard drive and installed a windows vista o/s. They did not informed me that it was already fixed on september 9 and with my eagerness to get my unit done i just called the service center after almost 3 weeks wherein they did not informed me that it was already done. So when i checked the unit before they released to me i found out that when i inserted a sim card to used the 3g broadband network did not work out and then when i checked the system memory from the device manager it was just a 3gb from 4gb and the 1gb memory card was missing. I forgot to bring the repair check list issued to me by the service center before i checked the unit but as far as i can remember i purchased an additional 1gb ram from the retail store in singapore the total of 4gb system memory. Can anyone help me to address my complain because the kind of service and the people in hp service center in makati philippines is not reliable and can not be trusted for this small parts of laptop they ruined the integrity of this international company hewlett-packard? Hoping to hear from a good samaritan out there soon!
