I had been given a $500 gift card for a Firestone Auto Repair center. I went to The Firestone store Galleria Store in Houston, Texas. I bought 4 new tires for about $320. I got a phone call about 30 mins after I dropped it off and a guy named James tells me that I need an "opinion" seal replaced because it was leaking. This was gonna add about $130 more to my bill but since I had the gift card I said yes to the "opinion" seal repair. I kinda laughed because of the name "opinion". I had this weird feeling that there was a scam involved. I got back to the shop about two hours to early, so I sat on their filthy couch, drank their piss poor coffee and read the 2 year old magazines that we falling apart. The interesting thing was that every customer that came into the store for anything was being told that their "opinion" seals needed to be replaced. I counted 7 customers of were advised of this either on the phone or in person. When I checked out to pay my bill I said to James - what is an opinion seal? Just your opinion of a seal that may or may not need to be repaired? I went on to say that I overheard you selling people on the opinion sale repair, is their such a thing? He said that there was... With a slight smirk on his face... BUSTED!!! But he could not bring himself to defend his actions any longer. BTW: My invoice says that Firestone repaired my Opinion Seal... What a scam operation...
