Called about my $2,000 GE side by side refrigerator that is only a few years old. The freezer was not defrosting and the temp was going higher and higher. After almost 3 hours of the technician fumbling around and actually calling GE Tech for help, he tells me it is non-repairable. Know mind you, I am recently widowed and displaced from my family home. I told the technician I could not afford a new refrigerator. I asked him to be be honest about his assessment and skill in repairing this type of fridge. He continued to insist it was not repairable. A week later I called a GE technician who came out, ordered new parts, had them shipped to my home and came back to fix the fridge. Now it works!!! This story should say it all. Don't call Sears Applilance repair!
