Trying to charge $930 for small stain on the carpet, which I believe was there befor i rent the apartment

Hi Spyglass hill apartments, Denver CO 80244 report me to collection company for $ 934 for carpet stain, which was there when I got the apartment. Apartment was very old, same with carpet. And now they are trying to charge me for carpet replacment.
