We were perfect tenants at the Meadows Apartments. When we moved in, we reported a stain by the door. We paid their pet deposit. After we lived there for around 8 months, they changed their pet policy and told us that we had to get rid of our small dog or we would be evicted. We immediately moved our dog to my sister-inlaws. We found another apartment where we could have our dog.
They kept our deposit (which we expected because we did move before our lease). A year later, we receive a letter in the mail informing us that they will report negative on our credit if we do not pay them $540 in a WEEK. When we inquired as to what they were charging us for, they stated that they had to replace the carpet because of a stain by the living room door. We told them that we reported this stain when we moved in.
They told us that they must have "lost the paperwork" about the stain!
