On Thursday, June 23 I had my eyes checked by Dr. Culver at the Sears store in Sioux City, IA. I arrived about 20 minutes early and sat down to wait for my appointment. Another customer was sitting at a fitting table and visiting with the customer service women. I found their conversation to be irritating and a little personal to be disgussing loud enough for the entire waiting area to hear. That customer went in for her eye exam and then a hispanic family and another customer came and set down. The customer service employee then started talking to me about personal things. Some questions I did not answer. I then went in for my appointment and when the doctor finished my exam he opened his office door and I exited with my prescription and sheet of paper. The employee and the first customer were again sitting at a fitting table (fitting her new glasses) but much more visiting was being done than fitting glasses! I realized that I was not going to have time to wait my turn and started pacing. The customer visiting with the employee noticed that I was uneasy and told the employee that she could go on and help me.By this time I had decided that I would pay my exam and take the prescription elsewhere. I told her that and she asked if she had done something to make me mad. I replied that she certainly did upset me with her personal conversation with the other customer. You see, they were discussing when there children grew up and present day situations with "tan and peach" colored people and children. The employee told how when her child was young and those "you know" kids would come to play and that she always told her son that they were fine to play with. Enough said. I will not return to your optical service in Sioux City, IA. What an experience!
