First American Home Warranty
Dishonest, greedy and lousy service

Our dishwasher panel shorted out 3 times between Oct and Aug and was unsuccessfully repaired by their contractor each time but the last. I had paid $110 for two previous unsuccessful co-pay attempts to fix the dishwasher and then the final $55 for the last fix. First American says the repairs were separate and distinctly different. Not true! Repairmen stated on the last 2 visits that the previous repairs were done improperly causing the panel to short out. First American originally waived the last copay, then sent me to collections demanding payment, which I decided to pay to minimize a hit on our credit. Contract # 10275944801. More specifically, each time First American (FA) fixed the panel on the dishwasher, which is only two years old, within a few months the panel would short out again. After the first fix, the repairmen each time stated the previous repair was done improperly causing the panel to overheat and shortout. I paid $110 copay for the two first visits, and was told by First American (per a Sept phone call with their representative) that the third $55 payment would be waived and the final repairman stated I did not need to pay the final $55. Then, in December First American called me informing me that I owe them that last $55 copay. I tried to explain the situation with the representative who stated none of my story was documented in their files, and that I must pay. I refused.in Jan I received a bill for the $55 and I called and talked with another rep who said he understood my frustration but had no power to make any changes. I asked for a manager, and he stated there were none, and there was nobody up his management chain I could talk to. I was trying to work something out. They were completely inflexible and indifferent.in addition, the last repair took 4 months to complete... That's 1/3rd of the contract life. Poor customer service, poor repair contractors. Shortly thereafter, I received a collection notice and paid the $55.
