Mesquite Metal Products Inc esquite Metal Products Inc. Dba DFW Siding & Patio Selling Material Poorly Primed, Now Rusted

This past summer we had Michael Stout (from DFW Siding & Patio a.K.A. Mesquite Metal Products, 110 Industrial Dr., Forney, Tx 75126, Phone #'s 972-564-9465,972-564-6560,972-285-1549) give us a quote on extending our carport. Michael said the beams would come already primed and all we had to do was paint them. After the installation I noticed the side support beams were rusted, even through the primer. The carport also leaked where the extension was made. The one worker GW who installed the carport by himself did not even call to say he would be by. He just showed up without even telling us and attempted to repair the leak. When I tried to show him the rusted beams, he told me I would have to deal with Michael about that. After much haggling with Michael, he agreed to replace the beams. (I even offered to pay for new beams.) He came by two or three times with beams that were rusted like the others. He told me that's all "they" had in stock. Finally he brought some beams that were not as rusted and replaced the old ones. The same worker GW was obviously upset by having to return.in an attempt to fit the pieces, he had to use his handsaw to cut into the metal poles shooting metal sparks all over a car that had a cover over it. Needless to say the sparks burned holes into the cover. I screamed at him " Stop, you're burnig the car cover!" His response was "Now you have something else to complain about!" He didn't care that he was destroying my property. He didn't even say a word when finished the repairs, he just drove off mad.

We painted the beams the next week. The carport still leaked but I didn't want GW returning to our property, so we tried making the repairs ourself.

Now, six months later, the cross beams have begun to rust on all side top and bottom. I called Michael Stout and spoke with him today and asked if he was going to do anything about it. He refused. I told him I was going to report him to BBB and he just hung up.

I was told by the paint person at Home Depot that whoever primed the metal used a cheap primer and that's the reason I now have to strip, clean, reprime and paint the surfaces.

My advice would be to stay away, these people are obviously not professionals at what they claim to do. I would try to find someone that actually cares about their work.

I am attempting to solve this through the local BBB and have requested reimbersement of the following:

I will have to strip, clean, reprime and repaint all the beams that are now rusted. Materials and labor are going to cost me about $500.00.
