Whipple Plumbing, Heating and AC
Con artists and High Pressure Sales

Very unprofessional and 0 technical skills. Our furnace was diagosed useless by a guy and his cell phone light. Then we had to pay him the $70 service call. What a joke! Do not do buisness with this company, even when proven wrong they stand behind their practices. We had a real tech come out and fixed our furnace for less than $1000.00. We still didn't get our $70.00 back even though they claim to have satisfaction garanteed or your money back. If you want the whole story read on.

In December of this year we had a little furnace issue that we called Whipple to come out and investigate. Our gas valve was going out and the electronic sending unit was causing it. When the Whipple tech showed up he first was talking to my wife (I was in the shower at the time). He told her that our heat exchanger was cracked and leaking CO into our home and had her scared that we were killing ourselves with this furnace. He was pressuring her to sign up for a new furnace running around $5000.00. When I got out of the shower and asked him about why he couldn't just replace the damaged units on our furnace he proceeded to show me a "crack" in my heat exchanger. He was only using the light from his cell phone to show me this so called crack and claimed that with the repairs costs we would be better of just buying a new furnace and as they were not very busy we could get one in today!

Fortunately we go a second opinion from our local Lenox dealer who promptly replaced the electronic sending unit and gas valve and we are back up and running with less than $1000.00 in cost.

We later had a supervisor from Whipple come to look at our furnace which he did with a teloscopic camera and he claimed a seem in the exchanger had a crack. It looked like a vent or something to me but regardless his first guy did not use this device and lied to us about it. The supervisor said that if he had to replace $300 of parts on this furnace he would recomend buying a new one! So if you cant fix your furnace for less than $300 then the Whipple tech is going to have you buying a new one.

Beware!
