The owner of "Custom Tile, Marble & Hardwood" Keith Rigdon, installed travertine tile in my home. He rushed through the job and did not properly plan (center) the tile layout to avoid slivers of tile on the edges of areas being tiled. The backsplash he tiled around the sink looked like a drunk person laid it - one side was higher than the other!
However, the worst part is that about 2 weeks after the installation, the tile floor cracked from one end of the room to the other! (He supplied the travertine.) I called him numerous times and left messages, which he ignored. He refused to return my calls until I threatened to take him to court.
Then for the next 5 months he always had a sob story (in an attempt to avoid repairing the tile) - he had back surgery (and cancer!), his son had an aneurysm, his mom was sick, his dad had a heart attack, his wife got food poisoning, yada, yada, yada...
He also left a horrendous mess in my yard - cut tile, hardened mortar, hardie backer board scraps, etc. I am not happy with his work, and I wish I'd never seen his face. Now the tile is cracking again - sooner or later I'll have to rip out everything he did and do it over. I'm just plain sick. Use him at your own risk!!
