On April 2 my home was broken into and a burgarly took place. The Seminole County Sheriff's department fingerprinted my furniture twice during the next three days.
The sideboard in my living room was damaged by the fingerprint powder, but only on one side... The fingerprint powder on the top and left door was easily cleaned up. However, it bled through the gloss or finish at the top of the right-side door and cannot be cleaned...
When I purchased this furniture in July '08, I purchased a three-yr wood warranty from Kane's. I notified Kane's about this situation last weeh. The wood technician (Juan) came to me home on 4/17 to examine the damage. He took photos and said there was nothing he could do to repair it.
Today, 4/18, Stacy Gilmore, Kane's Service Manager called me to say that there was nothing the store could so for me. She said that she has to rely on the Service Tech's conclusion that is no defect in the furniture. I asked her why the damage would only show up on one side of the sideboard if there is no manufacturer's defect.
Poor answer... Really no answer at all... So I am out $400 for the sideboard and $50 for the bogus warranty...
